The new technology is named as Driver Alcohol Detection System for Safety. It is hoped that introduction of this system can completely eradicate accidents due to drunken drivers. Though the number of such accidents has been significantly decreased because of awareness and education, it is said that every year more than 10,000 people were killed there in car accidents.
In this technology alcohol content in the blood of drunkard will be detected by infra-red sensors set in side the car from the breath and touch. Whenever a drunkard try to open the door of a car, the system won't allow to open it. From skin sensors, this system won't allow him even to start car or change gears.
It is believed that this new technology of preventing car accidents will be very useful in other countries like India and China.
